OUR STORY

It Started with a Dream — And A Boombox!

Dance Fusion began in 2003 when a 19 year old Melissa Sgro began in a community hall with just a few students and a head full of big ideas. No mirrors. No fancy lights. Just passion, good music, and a deep belief in what dance could do for young people. What started as a few dance class quickly grew into a dance movement.

From Local Roots to National Recognition

Today, Dance Fusion is one of Australia’s most awarded studios, based in a purpose-built facility in Morley and home to over 300 students a week. We've now taught more than 5,000 dancers — helping them grow not just in skill, but in confidence, resilience, and creativity. We’ve performed on stages around the world — including Disneyland and Universal Studios — and trained students who’ve gone on to become teachers, performers, and lifelong dance lovers.

Why We Dance — and Why It Matters

We’re not just a dance studio. We’re a community. A second home. A place where dancers are seen, supported, and celebrated — no matter their age or ability. Our programs are built with care and purpose, combining dance education with sports science, child development, and a whole lot of heart. From preschoolers to advanced competitors to adults trying something new, every class is designed to bring out the best in every dancer.

Excellence Backed by Heart

We’re proud to be three-time winners of Australian Dance Studio of the Year, recognised for our teachers, teaching programs, team culture, leadership and customer service excellence. But more than the trophies, it’s our values that set us apart: Kindness. Respect. Joy. Inclusion. Community. This is what we care about most.

The Studio You’ve Been Looking For

If you're searching for more than just great dance training — if you're looking for belonging, support, and a place where your child can shine — you're in the right place. We’re proud to be a studio built on kindness, respect and inclusion.

At Dance Fusion, we’re here for every dancer, every step of the way.

MEET OUR EXCEPTIONAL TEACHERS

At Dance Fusion, our teachers are more than instructors—they’re mentors, nurturers, and role models who understand that dance is about more than technique. It’s about connection, confidence, and joy. We proudly champion age-appropriate training, where children are encouraged to be children, and dancers are developed with care, not pressure. Every step we teach is grounded in safety, supported by science, and delivered with heart.
