Dance Fusion's upbeat modern jazz classes involve the discovery & development of a variety of different jazz styles. Classes are based around the ‘love of dance’ philosophy as we explore the more ‘traditional’ jazz stylings in a technical, funky & very rewarding way.

Our approach builds strong technique, self confidence & produces fantastic results in our dancers! Classes incorporate a warm-up with a variety of kicks, turns, leaps, dance progressions & dance routines for students aged

Dance Fusion’s rhythmical tap classes will challenge your feet & co-ordination with tapping concepts inspired by traditional choreography – such as that of Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire & the Broadway musicals, through to the diverse funky styles of the more recent ‘Tap Dogs' & ‘Stomp’ phenomenon’s.

Our tap classes teach exceptional technique, rhythmical training, and musical appreciation with a new groovy flair. Dance Fusion’s tap classes guarantee to be a fun workout.....and are always very noisy!

Acrobatics is the spectacular art of strength & control, tumbling, contortion and flexibility. Dance Fusion’s acrobatics classes explore these elements in a safe & supervised environment, under fully qualified instruction.

Acrobatics is the most creative, skilful & entertaining forms of dance! Our classes begin with a thorough warm up, and progress through the art of balancing, ‘roly poly’s’, bend backs, cartwheels, round offs, back flips & much more.

Classes are well suited for girls and boys aged:

• Tiny Tumblers (2-5yrs) - Wed 5-6pm/ Sat 10.45 -11.45am

• Junior Acro (6-13yrs) - Wed 5.00 - 6.00pm/ Sat 10.45 -11.45am 

• Intermediate & Advanced Acro (Skill Specific) - Wed 5.00 - 6.00pm

 

 

Classical ballet is where all correct dance technique, style, poise and strength are derived. It is the most disciplined, the most expressive, and the most rewarding of all the art forms.

It is a well acknowledged fact that all the ‘great' dancers of the past and present, gain their ‘flair’ from strong classical training.

DANCE FUSION’S classical classes are structured around the CSTD & RAD classical syllabii, and are offered to students of ages:

• Barbie Ballerina's (2- 5yrs) Tues 11.45 - 12.30am/ Tues 4.00 - 4.45pm

• Junior Ballet (6yrs-9yrs) Tues 4.45 -5.30pm

• Intermediate Ballet (10yrs-13yrs) Tues 5.30 -6.30pm

 

Lyrical dance is a fusion of classical ballet & jazz dance techniques. It explores the emotions of dance & uses motion to interpret music & lyrics.

Lyrical dance is expressive, subtle and dynamic, and a solid, ballet-based technique is an essential component of this advanced style of dance. Lyrical is based around choreography and the interpretation of the music.

DANCE FUSION’S choreographers are continually travelling over east & internationally to learn the latest styles & pass them onto their students.

• Intermediate Lyrical (9-15yrs) - Wed 7-8pm

• Senior Lyrical (15yrs+) - Tues 5.30 -6.30pm

 

Musical theatre is back! Once again audiences are flocking to see shows such as Chicago, Wicked, Mamma Mia and Billy Elliot. Commercial musicals provide some of the longest and highly paid jobs in the performing arts – so as a dancer it makes sense to develop your skills in this area.

Dance Fusion’s Musical Theatre classes are designed to give an equal focus to singing, drama, dance and music, and explore the development of skills and knowledge in these performance disciplines. Musical Theatre students are typically versatile and flexible in their approach to the performing arts.

Musicals are performed all around the world. They may be presented in large venues, such as London’s West End and new York’s Broadway Theatre productions, or in smaller fringe theatre, off Broadway, regional productions, on tour, or by amateur groups in schools, theatres or other performance spaces. In addition to Britain & North America, there are vibrant musical theatre scenes in many countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia. The opportunities are endless. With many musicals slated for production in 2010 – there is no time like the present to get prepared & learn from people in the know.

1. "Wiggles & Giggles" (2-5yrs)

Tues 11.00-11.45am or Sat 9.00- 9.45am

Packed FULL OF FUN, jumping, singing & dancing, this very popular class explores basic jazz & tap dance styles. With the added fun of hula hoops, dress ups....& of course the noisy tap shoes :) Come join the fun!

2. “Tiny Tumbler's” Acrobatics (2- 5yrs)

Wed 5.00-6.00pm or Sat 10.45 -11.45am

This 'topsy turvy' class includes stretching, balancing, roly poly's, bendbacks, kartwheels, handstands, strengthening exercises, back flips, hula hoops, acro mats & much more! All in a safe & supervised environment.

 

3. “Barbie Ballerina's” (2-6yrs)

Tues 11.45 -12.30  or 4.00 - 4.45pm

Welcome to the wonderful world of fairy's, princesses & ballerina's!   Join us as we learn the fundamentals of classical ballet in a creative & imaginative environment. Students will learn beautiful classical movements, improvisations and have the chance to play with fairy wands, tutu's , scarves & more!  A sure favourite.

Examinations set a definite goal for the students to reach every year, and these classes are the best way for your child to gain a greater understanding of the fundamentals of dance.

Dance Fusion’s exam classes are structured around the CSTD & RAD syllabi & teach body awareness, music appreciation, core body strength, encourage self preparation, planning & discipline.

Every student receives a personalised examination report, a certificate, & medal/trophy recognizing their achievements at the completion of each grade. It is particularly nice to keep all these items together in a portfolio and to add to them year after year.

Examination Classes offered in 2010:

• CSTD Modern Jazz (Junior, Grade 1, 4-8)

• CSTD Classical Ballet (Grade 4)

• RAD Classical Ballet (Grade 1 & 3)

 

 

 

Dance Fusion's annual production is an opportunity for students to showcase their hard work & achievements from throughout the year, and has a strong reputation for its professionalism and success each year.

Concert 2010 will be held on Monday 13^th December at the beautiful RIXON THEATRE (Penrhos College, Como) and will showcase acts from the adorable preschoolers & juniors to the impressive teenagers & seniors dancers performing in all styles of dance. Participation in the show is encouraged but not compulsory.

Fun, edgy & creative routines are choreographed by their qualified teaching staff & are taught during your child’s class time. The bright & beautiful costumes worn by the students are always a talking point & are long remembered - all which are designed and manufactured by Dance Fusion's ‘Costume Department' for a hassle free finish every time.
