Introducing DANCE FUSION’S exciting NEW preschooler dance program for the tots aged 2yrs-5yrs! Offering a variety of much loved classes in the areas of:
- Modern Jazz & Tap (combination class) – Saturday Mornings
- Tiny Tumbler’s Acrobatics class – Wednesday Afternoons
- Barbie Ballerina’s Class– An introduction to classical ballet – Thursday Afternoon
These classes incorporate music that is well suited to this age groups, including a selection of nursery rhymes & music from their much loved popular groups Hi 5 & The Wiggles.

MODERN JAZZ & HIP-HOP FUNK

Dance Fusion's exciting and upbeat modern jazz classes involve the discovery & development of a variety of different jazz styles. By beginning with an introduction to the more ‘traditional’ jazz technique, our students are then able to experience the more ‘free style’ hip hop expressions that are so popular today! Our approach builds strong technique, self confidence & fantastic results in our dancers by incorporating a warm-up, & combining it with a variety of kicks, turns, leaps, dance progressions & eventually full routines in each class.
Modern Jazz classes are divided into the following age groups:
- Preschoolers (2yrs – 5yrs)
- Level 2 Jazz (6yrs- 7yrs)
- Level 3 Jazz (8yrs – 9yrs)
- U/12 Jazz - BY INVITATION ONLY
- Level 5 Jazz (10yrs – 15yrs)
- U/16 Jazz – BY INVITATION ONLY
- Senior Jazz (15yrs+)
Hip Hop & Funk Classes are offered as:
- Pre – Teen Hip Hop (5yrs – 9rs)
- Teenage Hip Hop (10yrs – 14yrs)
- Senior Hip Hop (15yrs+)

TAPPING

Dance Fusion’s tap classes will challenge your feet, rhythm & co-ordination with tapping concepts inspired by the traditional choreography of Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, Broadway musicals, through to the diverse style of the more recent & funky ‘Tap Dogs' revelation. Our tap classes will teach exceptional technique, rhythmical training & musical appreciation. Dance Fusion’s tap classes guarantee to be a wonderful workout, full of fun, & always a little noisy!
Tap classes are divided into the following age groups:
- Preschoolers (2yrs – 5yrs)
- Level 2 Tap (6yrs- 7yrs)
- Level 3 Tap (8yrs – 9yrs)

ACROBATICS

Acrobatics is the spectacular art of strength & control, tumbling, contortion and flexibility. Dance Fusion’s acrobatics classes combine these elements with traditional and modern jazz dance style while students explore this art form on acrobatics mats & under fully qualified instruction. Acrobatics is the most fun, creative, skillful & entertaining forms of dance! Our classes progress through a thorough warm up, to learning the art of balancing, to achieving a bend back, kartwheel, round off, flips etc etc. for students aged:
- Tiny Tumblers (3yrs – 5yrs)
- Junior Acro (5yrs – 9yrs)
- Beginner Acro (5yrs- 13yrs)
- Intermediate/Advanced Acro (9yrs+) -skill specific

CLASSICAL
Classical dance is where all correct dance technique, style, poise and strength are derived. It is the most disciplined, the most expressive, and the most rewarding of all the art forms. It is well accepted that all the ‘great' dancers of the past and present, gain their ‘flair' from a strong classical training. Dance Fusion’s classical classes are structured around the CSTD classical syllabus, and also include neo-classical and slow modern styles. Classes are offered to beginners, juniors, intermediates, & through to the advanced levels, including pointe work and major ballet examinations for the aspiring ballerinas.
Classical Classes are offered in the following categories:
- Barbie Ballerina’s (4yrs – 7yrs)
- Grade 2 Ballet (6yrs – 9yrs)
- Grade 3 Ballet (10yrs - 14yrs)
- Open Ballet (incl. Pointe work) – (14yrs+)
EXAMINATIONS
 Examinations set a definite goal for the students to reach every year, and these classes are the best way for your child to gain a greater understanding of the fundamentals of dance. Dance Fusion’s exam classes teach body awareness, music appreciation, core body strength, self preparation & planning, through to human anatomy and function. Dance Fusion offers CSTD examination classes in all areas of dance, from the preschoolers very first ‘Tinies' exam, right through to achieving a fully accredited CSTD teaching diploma, & all levels in between. Each student will receive a personalised certificate, report, & medal recognizing their achievements at the completion of each grade. It is particularly nice to keep all these items and to add to your dancing portfolio year after year.
Examination Classes offered in 2008 are:
- CSTD Modern Jazz (Levels 1 & 2)
- CSTD Theatrical (Grade 1)
- CSTD Classical Ballet (Grades 2 & 3)
- CSTD Tapping (elementary silver)
COMPETITIONS

Dance Fusion offers competition classes to students of all ages, in all areas of dance & has been involved in over 15 years of competitions, producing extremely successful results! For those students wishing to enter in the competitions in the category of a solo, duo, or trio, we offer private lesson classes with fully qualified teachers. Dance Fusion is involved with very prestigious competition festivals held in Western Australia, occurring in the April, July, and October school holidays & also offer special troupe classes to those students who meet the specific requirements & are willing to participate. Competitions are a great way for students to improve their self confidence & experience the ‘thrill’ of performing on stage. |
ANNUAL CONCERT
 Dance Fusion's annual production is an opportunity to showcase a culmination of the student’s achievements & hard work throughout the year. Dance Fusion has a strong reputation for its professionalism and success each year. Their concerts are held annually in December at the prestigious Riverside Theatre at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre and include acts from the adorable preschoolers, juniors, intermediates & seniors dancers in ALL styles of dance. The bright & beautiful costumes worn by the students are always a talking point - & are all designed and manufactured by Dance Fusion's ‘Costume Department' for a hassle free finish every time.
