Melissa Sgro

CSTD (Theat), BSc, MSc

Principal & artistic director, MELISSA SGRO (TATASCIORE), was trained in Perth under the Commonwealth Society Of Teachers Of Dancing (CSTD) and has enjoyed a busy career performing in numerous dancing competitions, conventions, examinations, floorshows & concerts in some of Perth's most prestigious theatres & venues.

Since the age of 4, Melissa has enjoyed the art of dance, in all of its forms, studying in modern jazz, tapping, acrobatics, classical ballet, singing & hip hop. Her energy, commitment & love of entertainment have also provided many opportunities to perform in various musical theatre productions, corporate functions, and to cheerlead for some of Perth's high priority sporting teams.

At age 13, Melissa began to teach children in various styles of dance, of all ages & abilities. Her passion for dance continued to thrive as she began to recognise her talents & past experiences were being 'passed on' to her students.

In 2003, Melissa took over the reigns of a small dance school & since then it has grown in leaps & bounds. Dance Fusion regularly competes & excels in various dance competitions around Perth, with their dancers & teams producing exceptional results!

With a strong family orientated structure, Melissa believes that the successes of Dance Fusion & accomplishments from her student’s stems from this fun, friendly & family orientated environment.

Melissa has completed all major CSTD examinations gaining outstanding results (Honours and Honours Plus) in theatrical, tapping & classical ballet. She is also a fully qualified CSTD (theatrical) teacher & more recently has graduated from ECU with both a Bachelor of Science (BSc. Sports Science), and Master of Science (MSc. Exercise Physiology). This knowledge of a developing dancer's anatomy & insight into effectively training their bodies is an invaluable advantage to her students.

As studio owner, Melissa is very proud that DANCE FUSION continues to provide the very best in dance tuition, annual competitions, national competitions, & exciting INTERNATIONAL DANCE OPPORTUNITIES to its students.
